About Program
The Artist-In-Residence program is reserved for members of BRMAA in good standing for a minimum of one year. The Artist agrees to either A) present one or two workshops/master classes at no cost to BRMAA and/or active BRMAA members (extra supply fees may be requested) or B) present one or two workshops /master classes to a selected group within the Blue Ridge community (i.e. nursing home, local community group, etc.) to support BRMAA’s mission. Each exhibit may have an artist reception, although that date may vary from the opening date of the exhibit. Artist Bio and Inventory is typically due one month prior to opening of exhibit. Artist is required to deliver and hang/display artwork.
Exhibit Dates will be based on availability. The exhibit duration will be based on the Artists’ availability to present one or two workshops/master classes. BRMAA will provide six (6) weeks of gallery availability if Artist agrees to present one workshop during the exhibit timeframe; or twelve (12) weeks of gallery availability if Artist agrees to present two workshops during the exhibit timeframe.
Only original artwork created by the artist (includes photography and digital art) properly framed or museum wrapped with a wire hanging system will be hung in the Artist-In-Residence Gallery. Gicleés and prints will not be hung in the Artist-In-Residence Gallery. Gicleés and prints are allowed in the Artist-In-Residence Gallery in print bins only.
All artworks must be “for sale” – artwork marked “not for sale” or “NFS” will not be accepted. Artist may not remove artwork from the exhibit prior to the close of the exhibit. BRMAA will make every effort to maintain the exhibit as displayed but under certain circumstances BRMAA may allow for artwork to be collected by the Buyer prior to the close of the exhibit.
In the event of sales during the exhibit, the artist will receive 70% of retail price (set by the artist) and BRMAA will retain a 30% commission. All sales will be conducted through BRMAA, who will collect purchase price and Georgia Sales Tax.
