Mixed Media & Abstract Painting with Rita Schwab

Join artist and instructor Rita Schwab as she teaches you to create a textured mixed media abstract painting. In this two-day workshop, students will learn about and create a textured abstract painting using plasters as underlayment and inlaying objects such as crystals, pebbles, organics, and jewelry pieces prior to painting a vibrant abstract painting. We will primarily use acrylic paints using palette knives, trowels and brushes. Other techniques covered will include wet painting, dry brushing, underlayment to create texture and inlaying objects in a painting, highlighting and finishing. We will make a small sample on a smaller canvas board before completing a larger painting on a large canvas board.
