Introduction to Mountain Dulcimer
Learn to play the mountain dulcimer in this six-week series of beginner group lessons. The mountain dulcimer is a beautiful Appalachian instrument, one that is truly native to the region. In a fun and stress- free environment, students will work on beginner songs and will also learn techniques that encourage growth on the instrument. On the first day, students will learn a minimum of three songs that will expand to traditional tunes and hymns over the following weeks. Together with the instructor, students will create their own practice schedules to optimize learning outcomes. By the last week, students will be able to write their own music into tablature. The instructor will also discuss with students how they can continue their study of the instrument beyond the six weeks.
