Cheryl Engledow

About the Artist

Cheryl Engledow ArtMixed media artist Cheryl Engledow states, “Although I may have chosen a color palette before starting each painting, inspiration takes over when the brush hits the canvas”. High energy and movement describes Cheryl’s personality and her painting style and both are evident in her pieces. Cheryl loves to include texture and layers of paint in her abstracts to produce the depth and richness in each of her paintings.

Cheryl has a degree in graphic design from the Art institute of Pittsburgh. She spent her early art career as a professional photographer specializing in black and white with hand tinting. Cheryl also owned and operated an art gallery for 10 years. Her busy schedule prevented her from doing what she really wanted to do, paint! Her art represents years of maturity of character and patience for the right time. She is now doing what she loves so she begins each new piece with LOVE written on her blank canvas. You may not be able to see it when the piece is complete, but it is there !

Cheryl’s favorite poem and one that perfectly describes her is:

“When you do things from your soul you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” ~Rumi
