The Art Center is excited to welcome a new group to the Art Center: The Mountain Weavers Collaborative! Come expand your knowledge of spinning and weaving with other like-minded artists.

Meetings will be varied based on group interest. Topics discussed during meetings will include techniques, troubleshooting, types of looms, weave structures, and resources. Members are encouraged to share their work.

The group is co-led by Faye Sullivan and Robyn Czyscon. Robyn is a floor loom weaver, has previously taught at the Art Center, and enjoys spinning yarn. Faye is a rigid heddle loom aficionado, and dabbles in many other types of weaving, inkle loom, tapestry, and peg loom to name a few.

Their mission is to bring together people who have an interest in weaving and spinning. They encourage members to expand their skills through education, sharing inspiration, and fellowship.

After the inaugural meeting of the group on October 3rd, they will be meeting the third Saturday of each month from 10:00am – 12:00pm (November 21^st and December 19^th). Meetings will be held in the upstairs loom room, so please reach out if you are unable to climb stairs.

No previous experience in weaving or spinning is necessary. As a part of the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association, the only requirement is for participants to be members of the Art Center.
