Learn how to design and build your own whimsical birdhouse using traditional slab methods combined with inventive texture techniques. Students will create a one-of-a-kind birdhouse over the course of three days that blends decorative sculpture with fantasy. Drying periods during the class will be used to create personal and unique texture tools. By the end of the course, participants will have a fully finished and glazed birdhouse, as well as a set of custom texture tools.

Designed for all levels, you will learn all the basics of the slab building technique, including slab rolling, assembling slab pieces using scoring and slipping techniques, adding sculptural accents and decoration, and glazing.
